There is something about the outside of a horse
that is good for the inside of a man.

Welcome to Gaits to Success!

A child dreams of running as fast as the wind,
though he's never taken a step by himself...

Another dreams of connecting in spirit,
even through her isolation of autism...

A teenager, blinded, dreams of the passing landscape
through the gentle brown eyes of his horse...

While these dreams may seem just that, Gaits to Success is working hard to turn dreams into reality for many children and adults along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. As a non-profit therapeutic riding facility in Kiln, Mississippi, we serve riders who have a variety of disabilities such as partial paralysis, autism, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, and mental retardation. Our students find physical and cognitive benefits while enjoying the freedom of horseback riding.

Gaits to Success offers a unique approach to helping people with mental, physical, emotional, and learning disabilities. Therapeutic horseback riding gives the disabled person a feeling of freedom, independence and an awareness of self that is otherwise difficult to achieve by conventional therapy. Physical activity and individual accomplishment are uplifting and rewarding for the student. Improvement may be seen in increases in attention span, dexterity, auditory and visual learning motor skills, and memory cooperation.

As a North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) member center, Gaits to Success adheres to NARHA standards and guidelines to promote a safe, quality, therapeutic riding program. Visit NARHA at www.narha.org.
